The Reality of God | My Prayer for 2017

The Reality of God | My Prayer for 2017

The truth is, what's visible and touchable are realistic facts that no amount of reasoning can discount. Facts captivate our attention, arouse our desires, energize our discussion and establish our conclusion. Our responses to what's factual have no bearing on the underlying component or the ultimate outcome of the actual fact. Although facts can be dangerous and destructive, they can also be logically conceived and are visibly available.

So, you may ask, 'what's the difference between a fact and the truth, and how does God fit in both elements of reality?’  My answer to both parts of that ...

Persevering Women In Leadership - Who are they?

WHY does the subject of women in Leadership still present itself as a primary point; oftentimes, triggering static conversations and itchy debates?  Will it ever go away? My question is, why should it? If this subject still irritates stubborn mindsets and incarcerates the progress of women, then it should remain a subject of primary importance until God’s purpose is acceptably identified.

Women are natural connectors born to be nurturers and find no difficulty in identifying with pain, passion or purpose. For this reason, powerful spaces should be made to connect and enrich their ...

It is a genuine pleasure, privilege and honor to share my relationship with Arlene as testament to her character personally and professionally.  Arlene values her relationship with people and is incredibly invested in keeping her word.  Through many years of friendship living in Miami, sharing the joy and challenges of life, Arlene has proven rock solid and a keeper of her word.  We have traveled overseas together on mission trips where Arlene had oversight of the missions team.   I was present when difficult decisions were necessary and Arlene exhibited these values.

    I am a retired ...

Arlene Hoffman is a woman pleasant to describe. She is as strong as she is tender. She is as wise as she is teachable. She is also as quick witted as she is patient. She is an eloquent orator and a keen listener, taking in as much as she gives.

This sounds like a confounding and complicated person at first glance. Someone may read that and feel intimidated.

I have known Arlene for over 5 years. I have known each of these facets of her character and am equally fascinated by each distinct part. I have relied on her strength ...

Filled with expectation as we sail through 2016. As for me, I’m curiously expectant as I embrace what I still call my ‘new season’.

Building my Professional Coach practice is everything and so much more than I expected.  One of my key learning is 'life has no Plan-B’. You can only do life One Way…live it!
As I pursue living out the professional part of my long life I am reminded that one of the most important aspects of living is the testimony of our relationships. My real story is not complete without the testimonies of the people I have ...

Changes that Positively Affect your Perspective

There are statements and conversations that are erased from memory either deliberately or naturally because of lack of substance.  Then there are those statements and/or conversations that hold your attention way beyond conversational exchange, like the difference between a Giraffe and a Turtle.  There is nothing complex about recognizing the differences between the two species.  Giraffe’s are unaffected by the constant chatter of turtles simply because of anatomy and habitat.

If we relate the example of the giraffe and the turtle to human relationships and perspectives, it’s easy to recognize that ...

Managing A Disciplined Life

I had a dream years ago that completely changed my perspective on the reasons for and the effectiveness of discipline.  For me dreaming usually takes place vividly and more often during my energetic awake times.  Not this dream however, which happened between the space of deep sleep and my phone-alarm wakeup.

I dreamt I was blazing the speedway trails at primo speed in a racecar.  And, although I was way ahead of the other drivers I was an obvious hazard, simply because my speed lacked professional skill, ethics and insight.  I hugged the corners of the ...

The difference between a ‘Perspective Mentality’ and a ‘Master Plan’

“The heavens proclaim the glory of God and the skies display His craftsmanship” Psalms 19:1

This is one of my favorite stories of  Mr. Sun and a Friend having a deep conversation one day, when the friend asked, ‘Mr. Sun have you noticed how dark the world is?’  'No, actually I haven’t,’ replied Mr. Sun. In all my lifetime of shining I have not noticed one dark spot.   Well, maybe you just have not been looking keenly enough.  Let me take you to a few dark spots and ...
